Building a shelter for your livestock
The Ideal Shelter For Animals
By Rhianna Cabahug
All animals need basic things like food, water, rest, and shelter. If you plan to take good care of your own livestock, you need to put these things in mind 😀. In this blog, I would like to talk about the shelter needed for livestock. The shelter you need to make for animals need to have a good place to put food and water and a comfortable area to sleep 😉.
The shelter you need to make depends on what animal you are making the shelter for. Bigger animals need more space and sensitive animals need more comfort. If you were to make a shelter for a pig or a hog you need to give it a lot of space for it to roll around and enjoy itself 💗. I also suggest that you should not put any walls because the smell will be very horrible 🤣. If you could, it would be nice to give your little piggy its own mud pool, pigs love mud for some reason 😅. Lastly, a comfy little hay bed and a container made out of bamboo (for the food and water) would be enough to make your hog feel at home😁💗.
You need to make sure that the roof is blocking the sun when it is very hot.
Chickens are obviously smaller animals so they only need a small shelter 🙂. In the example I drew below, I imagined having two chickens live together. One could stay at the top and the other would stay at the bottom. Having multiple layers can save space and give the chickens their own personal room 😁. just fill the room with chicken coop bedding and place a fence so they would have their own area to play in 💗.
You can make something like this so they won't have to fight for food 😜
Cows and cattle are a bit more interesting 🤭. They usually grow very big and are kept together. So, I believe that it is best to make an entire barn to keep your cows (If you plan on keeping many). Cows don't smell as bad as pigs and I am sure that they will enjoy the amount of space that you would give to them 😉. You just need to put a lot of hay and set up a place where they can eat and you would be good to go! 💗
The last shelter I would like to discuss are homes for bunnies and rabbits 🥰. If you plan on keeping only a few of them, then I suggest going with a more simple approach. You just need a small hut or room for them to stay in when it rains and a fence surrounding their home so that they can run around and play 😊. Rabbits love to eat grass so you should give them the freedom of doing so!💗
